Transition after Transition

Time has gone by. I have been wrestling with God and my own heart. And now I am at a reprieve. I sit here sweating, heaving, and panting next to God (who isn't out of breathe at all). I try an underhanded jab when he isn't looking. He laughs. Sigh. Maybe I am learning. Maybe not.

Let's blog, shall we?

Things in 2010 that were new that weren't so in 2002

2002.
I was 14 years old.
I lived in Nashville, TN.
I was home schooled.
I played no music.
My favorite album was PFR's Pray for Rain.
I listened to this album on a Walkman.
I thought boys were icky.
I did not blog.
My email address was the brand of our computer monitor because I was afraid that I was going to forget it.
All I wanted in general was a friend.

2010,
I was 22 years old.
I lived in Norman, OK.
I graduated from college.
I play banjo in front of people.
My favorite album this year was Punch Brother's Antifogmatic.
I listened to this on my iPod.
I am dating a super swell guy.
I am writing this blog on an iPad. (thanks, Sarah and Mom!).
My email address is my first initial and last name and it is affiliated with the school where I teach.
I write this while two awesome friends make me dinner. And I have more where that came from.

So, peeps, amidst all the bagillion posts celebrating 2010, read mine.

Also, wallow in the fact that eight years is enough time to change virtually everything about your personality except for bad parts...they stay. Don't ask your best friends for blog post ideas. Don't throw your keys in the drain. Try to avoid nervous breakdowns. Don't kill yourself. Teaching is hard but awesome. And sometimes a little balsamic vinegar goes a long way.

Hello, 2011! Bring it on.
